BADDOGS

CHARACTERS

Ichika

A noble living in the Hanasato Empire. She is taking private school lessons in order to prepare for her future role as one of the overseers that work under Lady Hanasato herself. She's incredibly lonely due to how isolating her lessons are. She misses her childhood friends, and longs for the day fate brings them all together again.

Saki

The youngest sibling in the Tenma line, and the beloved princess of Tenma Territory. She, alongside her brother Toya, go missing one night with no explanation. Their absences cause an unstoppable domino effect that eventually leads to the second ever war in the Sekai's history.

Honami

A maid who serves the Yoisaki family. She is exceptional at cooking and is more than kind to everyone who crosses her path. She used to be childhood friends with Saki, Ichika, and Shiho before they all began to walk their own paths alone. If one were to ask if she missed them, she'd only reply with a small smile.

Shiho

The Captain of the Tenma Territory knights. She is consistently reliable and takes her duties so seriously, it scares the newbie knights. She is childhood best friends with Saki but hardly got to see her once she became Captain. When Saki goes missing, Shiho insists on coming along to help search for her.

Minori

The newly Crowned Lady of the Hanasato Empire. It's rumored by her citizens that her incredibly unlucky nature is actually a curse. Despite her complete lack of luck, she persists and treats every day like a new opportunity. When the news of Princess Saki's disappearance reaches her, she seeks out those she used to idolize to ask for their help with protecting her citizens.

Haruka

An ex-musketeer trying to live a normal life once again. She used to believe in spreading hope for a brighter tomorrow until her toxic positivity lead to a fellow musketeer receiving a near-fatal injury. She now works as an apprentice under the guidance of the famous hunter Kaito, alongside Kohane.

Airi

An ex-musketeer who was unhappy with the role she was being forced into. Her whole life she aimed to be a musketeer. When she finally joined a contracted group, she quickly found out why they hired her. She was a good face, and a great talker. They needed a face for their group, and Airi was perfect for that. Unhappy with being unable to do real musketeer jobs, she quit and now looks after her siblings.

Shizuku

An ex-musketeer who was ostracized from her past group. Her natural beauty led to everyone's achievements getting overshadowed by her own. Unable to handle the pressure from her group, and the objectification she was facing everyday, she quietly quit. She moved to Tenma Territory in order to support her sister's knightly endeavors.

Kohane

A shy commoner who works as one of Kaito's hunting apprentices alongside Haruka. She feels as if she's destined for something more than a future of hunting animals, but can't bring herself to stray away from Kaito's side and take the plunge alone. She's skilled at setting traps.

An

A spritely tavernkeep who is being trained by her father to take over the Weekend Tavern in the future. She can't tell if she regrets the path she walks down, and wonders if she might have waited too long to fulfill her lifelong dream of surpassing her aunt’s musical legacy.

Akito

Prince Toya's personal retainer. He is one of the three Head Knights in charge of the Tenma Territory's army. He never slacks on his duties, and has an unfortunate tendency to overwork himself until he's sick. He acts like he doesn't care for anyone within the castle walls, but very obviously cares way too much.

Toya

The unofficially-adopted Prince of Tenma Territory. He is not Tsukasa or Saki's brother by blood, but they love him just the same. He, alongside his sister Saki, go missing one night with no explanation. Their absences cause an unstoppable domino effect that eventually leads to the second ever war in the Sekai's history.

Tsukasa

The naive, self-centered firstborn Prince of Tenma Territory and one of three of the Head Knights. He's next in line to the throne, though probably needs a few more years of training and mental maturity before he's properly prepared to take it. When his siblings go missing, he gathers the other two Head Knights to journey with him and search every inch of the kingdom.

Emu

An eccentric royal beast girl who wants to unite the kingdoms through peace. Her idol is her late grandpa, who always relayed to her stories he claimed were true about the twintailed Goddess. A majority of the decisions she makes depend on how much it'll make someone smile in the moment.

Nene

A commoner who used to dream of becoming a world-renowned actor. An incident in her past stops her from ever thinking about pursuing that dream again. She lives with Rui on the outskirts between the two kingdoms, in the countryside that stretches endlessly across the Sekai.

Rui

An ex-royal alchemist who used to work for Tenma Territory's court that was exiled unexpectedly for reasons he refuses to talk about. He lives happily with his friend Nene on the outskirts between the two kingdoms, in the countryside that stretches endlessly across the Sekai.

Kanade

The only child of the Yoisaki family. Their family was one of the great nobles who worked directly under the ruler of Tenma Territory. They went into isolation after the loss of both their parents and is now in the care of Honami, the house maid. They mourn what more they could have done every second they are able to breathe.

Mafuyu

A noble girl hailing from the powerful and influential Asahina line. She studies nearly every minute of her life in order to train for when her mother retires and passes all her overseer duties down to her. She is incredibly compliant, and easy to get along with.

Ena

A common girl who went missing the day before she turned fifteen. She painted as an attempt to follow in the steps of her artist father, whom she used to idolize, but was scrutinized to the point of tears with each brushstroke. She had a reflexive temper, a tongue sharper than a knife, and fought dirty. Even so, her loved ones could only describe her as kind.

Mizuki

Princess Saki's personal retainer and one of the three Head Knights in charge of Tenma Territory's army. She's a free spirit with an uncanny ability to soothe any rising worries. When Princess Saki goes missing and Tsukasa calls for the Head Knights to journey to find her, Mizuki hesitates, not because she wants her to stay gone, but because she knows Saki had to have left for a reason. Nobody runs away without a reason to.

Miku

A simple common thief with a heart-of-gold. Though, one can't exactly call her a thief when she's never been caught stealing. She somehow knows everything about everyone. When asked about it, she laughs and says its because she's always on the move and always keeps an ear out for gossip. She is good to contact if one needs information about anything that happens on the soil of the Sekai.

Rin

A young girl who went missing a few years after Ena did. The previous kingdom knights that were in charge before Tsukasa formed his brigade, supposedly found a body, and declared her dead within 24 hours. She was a bit of an airhead, but loved to direct tourists from the Hanasato Empire to local places. Her favorite place was listening to the bards at the Weekend Tavern.

Len

An ordinary, but talented, knight training to be one of the Tenma Knight's Captains. He looks up to Akito and wishes he were as strong and brave as him. When Princess Saki goes missing and the Head Knights pack for their adventure, Len is reluctant to stay behind but understands someone needs to stay behind to protect the castle.

Luka

The sea fairy who was burned at the stake in the old era of the Sekai. There is little to no recorded information about them.

Meiko

The advisor for Miss Ootori of the Phoenix Stage. She is fantastic at balancing the line of indulging in Emu's whims and keeping the young noble in check with reality. She has a bubbly personality that is nothing but uplifting for anyone who meets her. She respectfully upholds the long-running tradition that are the nightly stories about the twintailed Goddess Emu's grandpa used to go on about. If one were to look closer during these storytimes, the beast's eyes would gleam with a sad nostalgia.

Kaito

A huntsman that mentors Haruka and Kohane. He's more grumpy than most would think, and he seems to know more than he lets on, but he's reliable when it comes to work. Someone at a bar drunkenly asked if he also received bounty requests in addition to his game requests. While the intoxicated crowd laughed at the absurdity of the question, Kaito chugged his ale before he slipped through the backdoor, and left without paying.
